Raymond Chan studied architecture in CUHK and worked as a core design force in Edge Design Institute Ltd. For 15 years, he has worked across a wide range of commissions to create everything from objects, installations, interiors, buildings and a yacht. His long-term collaboration with Edge Design has brought the company with numerous awards and international significance. He has taught in the Hong Kong Art School, HKU SPACE and PolyU HKCC. He is also a member of Hong Kong Calligrapher’s Association and the Norwegian Forest Cat breeder at Cattery Futurperfect. Raymond Chan received the “40 under 40” Perspective Awards 2013 in Architecture to recognize his achievement among young designers from around Asia.
Lucia Cheung is one of the founders of a young multi-disciplinary design practice, PLY Union Limited established in 2014. Cheung is a registered architect in Hong Kong. She studied architecture in CUHK and obtained Master of Architecture from Rice University, USA. Her practice in OMA Asia and Rocco Design has gained her broad experience in the architecture field with prestigious and award-winning projects in Hong Kong, Korea and Mainland China from public to private sectors. Her station in Guangzhou and Shenzhen has led her the opportunity to collaborate with fabricators, exploring design with fabrication technique for mass customization. Cheung also organized charity projects like “A Bridge Too Far” in China and “Building Power” for Hong Kong Institute of Architects.
Thyne Kong is one of the founders of PLY Union Limited which established in 2014. Kong graduated with her Master of Architecture degree at CUHK. She had worked in both design and management stream in planning, architectural, interior, exhibition and event fields. She also stationed in Hangzhou for a year and she joined Edge Design from 2006 to 2013. This has gained her plenty opportunity to work with local contractors and project management on project execution in various cities in PRC. Also it has equipped her broad experience of multidisciplinary works and collaboration with various artists and professionals. Kong is also a “tanguera” and helps in organization of tango events like HK tango marathon and individual Argentina tango workshops.
